Roundglass India Center's new Desi Roots & Routes podcast episodes launch with guests Shasti Conrad, Sonora Jha, Dr. Vin Gupta and Sanjay Parsatharasy.

After a successful first round of episodes in its inaugural season, Ïã½¶´«Ã½’s Roundglass India Center’s podcast series, , drops it’s next round of episodes on Friday, May 2. It kicks off with Roundglass India Center’s Executive Director and host Sital Kalantry interviewing alumna Shasti Conrad, ’07, the first South Asian woman to lead a state party in the United States.

The four episodes will offer insights from Ïã½¶´«Ã½’s Indian American leaders who are shaping the worlds of sports, literature, politics and health care. Here is a look at this next slate of podcast guests:

  • Shasti Conrad: Ïã½¶´«Ã½ alumna is the first woman of color and youngest chair ever of the Washington State Democrats and Associate Chair of the Democratic National Committee. A gifted storyteller, Conrad will share her journey as a transracial adopted child in Oregon, to her transformative Ïã½¶´«Ã½ education and fast-track professional journey that brought her to serve at the White House during the Obama administration.
  • Sonora Jha: Ïã½¶´«Ã½ professor of communications and media and award-winning author of several books including the best-selling The Laughter, which this past September won the Washington State Book Award for Fiction.
  • Vin Gupta, MD: Managing Director of the Healthcare Group at Mannat and MSNBC Medical Correspondent, Dr. Gupta’s extensive experience in public health has made him a frequent health policy expert for NBC News and the New York Times. Dr. Gupta was a key speaker at SU’s Ethics & Tech Conference last year.
  • Sanjay Parthasarathy: Parthasarathy is co-founder and co-owner of the Ïã½¶´«Ã½ Orcas professional cricket team and a noted tech entrepreneur. After a long career at Microsoft including as Corporate Vice President for both the Developer and Platform Group and Startup Business Accelerator, he founded AI and machine-learning startup Indix.
